The Planning Initiative was established in 1996 and provides a specialist and professional service to the private sector, communities, local and district municipalities as well as provincial and national government departments.
The team has a diverse range of skills in Land Use Management and Land Development Applications (including Rezoning, and Special Consent Applications, Sub-divisions, Consolidations, Scheme Amendment Applications and Scheme Preparation), Integrated Development Planning, and Revitalization and Regeneration Frameworks, Spatial Development Frameworks, Functional Area Plans, Local Area Plans and Precinct Plans, Project and Programme Management, preparation of Guidelines and Norms and Standards, Training, Community Engagement, Research and Geographical Information Systems.
